Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures, and programs.
- Work with local, state, and federal agencies including OSHA to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies for health and safety standards.
- Plan and direct monthly safety training topics, safety onboarding including GHS training for new hires, and other safety-related training as required for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
- Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Analyze incident data and trends to implement proactive safety measures.
- Lead safety training programs and provide education to employees on workplace hazards, emergency procedures and safe work practices.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture.
- Develop and coordinate emergency response plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
- Collaborate with outside contractors to schedule monthly, quarterly, annual inspections, and service to safety systems as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree in safety related field.
- Proven experience in safety management preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
