We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of healthcare professionals in a licensed New Jersey detox facility. The nurse will be responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality medical care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and in coordination with the Medical Director. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a detoxification treatment setting, as required by New Jersey state regulations, and demonstrate clinical proficiency in managing substance withdrawal protocols, medical screenings, and ongoing patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized nursing care and conduct medical and psychiatric screenings for all clients.
- Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of intoxication or withdrawal and report any changes promptly.
- Administer medications as prescribed and document all interventions and observations in accordance with NJ regulations and facility policies.
- Utilize assessment tools such as COWS and CIWA to guide detoxification protocols.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in the KIPU EMR system.
- Provide medication education to patients as needed.
- Supervise and give direction to Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and shift hand-offs.
- Adhere to all clinical protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and state licensure requirements.
- Valid New Jersey LPN or RN license in good standing.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a detoxification treatment facility (required).
- Strong understanding of withdrawal symptoms and medication-assisted treatment.
- Experience with KIPU EMR and use of clinical assessment tools such as COWS and CIWA.
- Effective communication and time‑management skills.
- Team‑oriented, with strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Practical Nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred but not required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Additional detox‑related training or certification is a plus
- 12‑Hour shifts
- Weekend availability required
