Compensation: $ per year.
Schedule:
M-F 8:30 AM-4:30 PM plus admin on-call rotation.

- Oversees compliance with federal, state (New Jersey and Pennsylvania) and local regulatory requirements; understands the legal implications of hospice and palliative care practices.
- Maintains a working knowledge of legislative activities regarding hospice and interprets same to governing board and to staff.
- Continually assesses programs and services to ensure identified community needs are met. Develops and implements the organization’s plans for providing hospice, palliative care and bereavement services.
- Ensures quality of care/services, meets or exceeds accreditation requirements, and performance improvement of hospice, bereavement and palliative care programs through the continuous quality improvement program. Submits quarterly reports to the Board of Directors.
- Participates in the development of all policies and procedures.
- Measures and assesses visit/revenue reports and implements strategies to improve delivery of hospice services.
- Monitors financial performance, and resource allocation to ensure sustainability.
- Provides data and information to the Board and the Strategic Planning Committee for the formulation of the strategic plan annually; provides bi-annual status reports to the Board of Directors.
- Prepares annual budget and allocation of funds based on reviews of program estimations and recommendations in conjunction with the Finance Committee, Administrator, Directors and Department Managers.
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep abreast of trends in hospice services.
- Demonstrates an awareness of the ethical, legal and economic issues that could impact the programs of the organization.

Additional Responsibilities- Identify and mitigate operational and clinical risks.
- Participates in functions of community relations to enhance the growth and viability of hospice.
- Recruit, train, and motivate clinical and administrative teams, fostering a patient-centered culture. Effectively mentors through persistent encouragement, the building of self-confidence, and the development of growth and performance excellence from all staff in the organization.
- Inspires confidence of employees, management team and governing board by remaining well informed, listening with an open mind and communicating in a highly professional manner.
- Establishes an effective, collaborative working relationship with physicians to improve patient and operational outcomes.
- Provides monthly statistical reports and productivity analyses for all programs to the Board of Directors.
- Research special and alternative programs and/or funding options to reduce costs and increase revenue.
- Represents the organization in outside meetings as required: including community groups, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals; utilizes a partnership and customer service approach in all communications with same.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
