Patient Access Representative – Full Time – Days

Newton Medical Center, Newton, NJ

Responsible for patient-facing registration and related tasks such as information collection, validation, and processing of orders and services. Participates in insurance-related tasks including verification, collection of co-payments, and related paperwork. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, payers, and other stakeholders for post-care account resolution.

• Serve as a first point of contact in the health system to support patient and family experience
• Secure accurate information and verify patient identification
• Interpret and communicate patient financial responsibilities
• Address patient questions and resolve concerns; adapt to changing work environments
• Obtain and verify patient information for registration
• Maintain contact with third-party payers to resolve outstanding claims and facilitate timely payment
• Request payment from patients or guarantors
• Obtain federally required and hospital-consented documents in a timely manner
• Reconcile daily cash and post dues or data entries within the financial system
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and work across various patient settings
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Full time, Days
• 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Every Other Weekend

Required:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift more than 25 lbs if needed

Preferred:

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, preferably EPIC
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Patient Access, Medical Office, Health Insurance, or a related area
