Job Description
Responsible for supporting and enhancing the fire safety protocols and policies in the organization. Leads and monitors the daily operations of the Emergency Response function including drills and exercises. Contributes to site-wide risk assessment studies and reacts proactively towards high-risk areas. Builds strong working relationships with subcontractors and joint venture partners. Ensures the Emergency Response Teams' competency standards are maintained at optimal levels.
PrincipalAccountabilities
- Develops high level rescue plans for all high-risk work areas to ensure effective response in the event of an emergency.
- Performs regular reviews of emergency response procedures and their compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assists with the coordination of disaster response or crisis management activities.
- Develops and conducts training programs for the Emergency Response Team.
- Leads the records management, inspection, procurement, and repair of all operational fire and rescue equipment.
- In conjunction with site medical staff, assists with medical evacuations of sick or injured employees.
- Attends prestart or toolbox meetings and creates awareness on fire appliance operations and safety.
- Coordinates and facilitates weekly/monthly meetings and necessary reporting.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Qualification in an Emergency Services Discipline at the level of Senior Fire Fighter or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in the resource industry in the field of emergency response or loss control.
- Experience and thorough knowledge of firefighting and response strategies.
- Fire Fighter 1, 2, and 3 Certifications required.
- Associate's degree in Service Operations or related field.
