Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

This position will provide outpatient psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and young adults. Care includes but is not limited to diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and coordination with families, schools and outside providers.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medical management. Provide care for both in-person and virtual appointments.
• Document patients’ medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including primary care and behavioral health staff.
• Develop and implement treatment plans. Support care coordination with families, schools, and therapists.
• Educate patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, and/or treatment plans.
• Maintain current awareness of new concepts, methods, techniques, and regulations related to this role.
• Participate in case discussions and contribute to practice-wide behavioral health initiatives.
• Provide clinical support for urgent appointments and medication refills.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.

• Master’s degree in nursing with PMHNP or CNS certification.
• Current Massachusetts APRN License with prescriptive authority.
• Minimum 2 years related experience.
• Experience in an outpatient setting with pediatric and adolescent populations preferred.
• Dual certification as a PNP or FNP is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Effective people skills to facilitate cross functional communications pertaining to patient care.
• Comfortable working independently within a team-based model.
• Proficiency with computers and experience utilizing electronic health records.

• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and reaching.

• This role works 4 days per week and offers a hybrid work arrangement.
• Office hours are during the regular workday; there is no requirement to be on-call or to work evenings.
