Associate Data Engineer

Position Summary

As an Associate Data Engineer at Ascensus, you will enable data‑driven decision making by collecting, transforming and visualizing the data. You will build, maintain and troubleshoot data processing systems with an emphasis on security, reliability, and fault tolerance.

• Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Ascensus to prevent unauthorized access, improper transmission, and unapproved disclosure that could harm Ascensus or our clients.

• Build Power BI dashboards and reports that translate data into clear, decision‑ready insights for stakeholders.
• Create and maintain data structures and processing systems (tools, infrastructure, frameworks, services).
• Assist with Enterprise Information Management (EIM) project definition and planning.
• Implement and troubleshoot deployments.
• Data Modeling
  • Assist with conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Update entity‑relationship diagrams and dimensional models.
• Data Integration
  • Build data ingestion tools, metrics, alerts, notifications, and metadata management services.
  • Build data replication services and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes to incrementally update the data warehouse and marts from Ascensus systems of record.
• ETL Development
  • Follow standards and best practices for implementing ETL tools in support of the EIM vision and reference architecture.
  • Build and maintain ETL solutions and platforms.
  • Participate in creating a long‑term ETL application support model.
• Data Warehouse and Data Marts
  • Follow technical standards and specifications addressing performance, security, and orchestration of ETL and data warehouse/marts management.
  • Build processes for loading data into and extracting data from the warehouse and marts.
• Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.

• 1+ years of relevant experience in data/software development, including data warehousing and ETL tools, techniques, and technology.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including active listening, asking appropriate questions, clarifying information, and writing clear, concise documents.
• Working experience with SQL.
• Understanding of data modeling techniques.
• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL design/tools.
• Working experience with C#, Python, or other data‑related programming languages.

The national average salary range for this role is $75,000–$85,000 in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment.
