Responsibilities
  • Perform examinations, develop treatment plans, and establish treatment goals with patient input.
  • Perform and apply interventions for follow-up visits.
  • Carry a caseload to independently manage.
  • Provide care to adult med/surg patients, primarily in general and complex medical, post-op orthopedics, post-op general and vascular surgery, and other areas as needed (such as ICU, Emergency Department).
Essential Functions
  • Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
  • Implement and monitor treatment plans, adjusting as needed.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about therapeutic activities and exercises they can do at home.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
  • Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development activities to stay current with new techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Therapy or higher required.
  • Licenses and Credentials: Occupational Therapist [State License] – Generic;
    Basic Life Support (BLS Certification) preferred.
  • Experience: 0-1 year preferred; experience in a residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facility 0-1 year preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers; knowledge of medical terminology; excellent time management skills; good oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills required.
