36hr Evenings 3x12hr shifts

Summary:

The registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. The registered nurse provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Oversees other assigned team members and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide population specific care in accordance with the BORN regulations and professional standards of care.

• Essential Functions: CAREfirst: adheres to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
• Adheres to departmental policies and procedures; contributes to overall quality of services; keeps informed about changes; makes independent nursing decisions within scope of practice.
• Applies the nursing process and evidence-based practice to ensure quality patient care; assesses patient physical, psychological, spiritual, cultural, and social needs; individualizes care considering age, development, and other patient factors; updates knowledge and skill to meet patient care needs.
• Implements clinical and technical aspects of care and physicians’ orders; coordinates with multidisciplinary team to facilitate discharge planning; ensures accurate nursing documentation and communication.
• Evaluates patient/family responses and revises the plan of care; sets priorities; collaborates with Case Managers to anticipate discharge needs; creates a safe, therapeutic environment; adheres to infection control and OSHA standards; protects patient privacy.
• Delivers patient care using two patient identifiers; uses appropriate equipment and recognizes when to escalate care; responds to emergencies; promotes fall precautions and safety practices.
• Advocates for patients, communicates effectively, and supports management decisions and system-wide initiatives.
• Role-specific responsibilities for Device Clinic RN, STAT RN, and others as described below.

• Device Clinic RN: Enrolls, interrogates, programs outpatient pacemaker patients; responds to device abnormalities; coordinates with care team; educates patients and families; ensures timely documentation and billing; leads device recall team; manages device monitoring administrative tasks; maintains knowledge of policies and participates in continuing education.
• STAT RN: Supports rapid responses and Code Blue; assists with admissions/transfers of critically ill patients; provides ICU-level care as needed; assists with IV access and phlebotomy; coordinates ambulance transport when required; performs other clinical duties as assigned.

Education
:
Nursing required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licenses and Credentials
:
Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to state; CPR/ACLS/PALS may be required per specialty area.

Experience
:
Demonstrated clinical competence and experience as required by the specific job posting/specialty area.
