Patient Care Assistant All Shifts Available at Mass General Brigham – Site:
Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients  temperatures, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. This role may require a willingness to work all shifts.

Sign-On Bonus $750.00

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frames.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Assists with basic hygiene tasks (bathing, dressing), helps patients toilet as needed, and assists with feeding as appropriate.
• Assists with turning and repositioning patients and helps with transfers between bed and wheelchair when needed.
• Listens to health concerns from patients and reports concerns to the nurses.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Experience
1-2 years in patient care/elder care preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred;
Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (Massachusetts), Nursing Assistant (LNA - New Hampshire) preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; knowledge of medical terminology; strong patient/customer service skills; ability to lift up to 35 pounds; proficient with electronic medical records

• Standing frequently; walking frequently; sitting occasionally.
• Lifting and carrying with weights as listed; various pushing/pulling requirements.
• Balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling as applicable; reaching; manipulation and dexterity; vision and hearing; speech.
