Senior System Architect Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior System Architect providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/Electronic Warfare Branch (AFLCMC/HNJ). The candidate will lead the architectural development of the Next Generation Aircraft Protection system that will be based upon open architecture standards – specifically the Agile Mission Suite (AMS) Government Reference Architecture (GRA). The candidate will also provide coordination and engineering support to program partners to ensure that the emerging design satisfies user needs and is in compliance with the GRA.
This is a full‑time position at Hanscom AFB, MA.
- Perform Mission Engineering to understand the characteristics, performance parameters, functions, and features of the new system that have an impact on mission outcomes.
- Identify and conduct trade studies to develop and refine an architecture – this includes the Conceptual, Functional, Logical, and Physical architectures.
- Using Digital Engineering tools, develop, capture and refine the architectures. These will be used to anchor the system design and all subsequent engineering efforts.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the development and maintenance of a Technology Roadmap that supports long‑term goals of modularity, up gradability, and sustainability.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the establishment of a development infrastructure (design, test) to support the new system.
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Clearance: Must have an active Secret level clearance and be TS/SCI eligible
Education: Bachelor's degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET‑accredited educational program and at least 12 years of experience in systems engineering, 5 of which must be in the DoW.
- An understanding of Electronic Warfare technology, including sensors (optical, RF), digital processing, countermeasures (optical, RF)
- Familiarity with Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA) tenets.
- Knowledge of the DoW Acquisition processes including Technology Maturation, Risk Reduction, Engineering and Manufacturing Development, Production and Development activities.
- Familiarity with the Adaptive Acquisition Framework is desired.
Preferred Experience:
Education: Master's degree in systems engineering from an ABET‑accredited educational program and at least 10 years of experience in a system engineering role in the DoW.
- Experience with an Architecture Development Method (ADM).
- Well versed in Digital Engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo, Magic Draw, Capella, SysML, etc. Familiarity with SIMAF or similar environment software for modeling and simulation.
- Experience with MOSA assessment tools (PA RT, KOSS, OAAT).

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
