Upper School Librarian

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an educational recruitment firm, is currently seeking an experienced Upper School Librarian for the academic year at an independent school in West Newton, MA.

• Cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences that integrate research, technology, creativity, and critical thinking for students in grades 7-9.
• Implement instructional practices that fosters students' information literacy and critical thinking skills.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive information literacy programs that focus on evaluating sources, applying effective research methods, and promoting the ethical use of information across all academic disciplines.
• Assess current use of digital systems identifying needs for improvement, alignment, and faculty support.

• Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
• Previous K-12 librarian experience required.
• Expertise with library management systems.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in upper school setting.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver information literacy curriculum.
• Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems (LMS).
• U.S. Work Authorization required.

• Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
