Job Title: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Upper Classroom Teacher
Reports To: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Director
Summary: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Upper Classroom teachers provides instruction for incoming 5th-9th grade students within the camp setting. Teachers plan and teach fun and project-based lessons focused on a specific course. Hours of work are 8:45 am – 3:45 pm, with a half‑hour lunch break.
Qualifications:- Experience in a classroom setting
- Teaching background
- Teaching degree/certification strongly desired
- Responsible for 5-15 students ages 5th-9th grade
- Teach and support students in specific courses they are teaching
- Create and implement curriculum related to course subject or theme
- Coordinate and collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities
- Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
- Responsible for implementing “other job‑related duties” as needed
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
