Overview
Special Education Teaching Assistant (Grades 7-12) – Clearway School (a small, private special education school for learning-disabled middle and high school students) has an immediate opening for a part-time teaching assistant through the end of the school year. Responsibilities- Assisting daily in assigned classrooms. This will include working 1-on-1, dyads, or small groups to reinforce content previously taught by the classroom teacher and assisting students with output (assisting in completion of projects, helping students talk-out answers prior to writing, etc.).
- Driving students to dual enrollment classes and work-study jobs. Clearway owns a fleet of mini-vans for student transportation.
- Supervising students during social times (snack and lunch) as well as during planned and unplanned breaks from classes both inside the building and outside in our outdoor area.
- Helping students coordinate finding support from other staff if there is a particular need beyond which the assistant can provide (Co-Director, School Clinician, Speech and Language Pathologist, etc.).
- Covering classes for meetings and when staff is absent.
- 2 years of college equivalent of 48 credits of post-graduate education.
- Valid MA driver’s license.
Hours: 7:30 am-12:15 pm Mon-Fri. Possibility of additional after hours.
Pay rate: $32 per hour
