White Pond Parking Attendant
Concord Recreation is seeking a Parking Attendant for our White Pond waterfront location. The incumbent will manage member check‑ins, sell and collect day‑pass fees, maintain parking space availability, handle phone calls about capacity, and sell memberships. Responsibilities require a thorough knowledge of departmental operations and the exercise of judgment and initiative, especially in situations not clearly defined by precedent or established procedures.
PayPay range: $19.00 – $22.00/hour*; starting pay based on qualifications. Work schedule varies with shifts ranging from 9:30 am–2:00 pm / 2:00 pm–7:00 pm, Monday‑Friday, and 9:30 am–2:00 pm / 2:00 pm–7:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday from late May – mid‑August.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Recreation and direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the incumbent manages the parking lot and capacity levels of White Pond. Responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under the position’s direction and control. Incumbent handles a significant amount of detail, requiring flexibility and proactive management.
Essential Job Functions- Direct service with members as they enter White Pond parking lot.
- Scan/search for members in MyRec software and check all attendees on computer.
- Collect day passes for guests, with and without members, and associated fees.
- Sell memberships to those wishing to purchase on the spot.
- Communicate via walkie‑talkie with Head Lifeguard on beach regarding capacity levels.
- Cross‑reference monetary revenue from MyRec, guest sign‑in sheet, and lockbox cash at end of each shift and track in binder.
- Manage signage at top of driveway regarding Open/Closed/Capacity.
- Perform special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested.
- Track available parking spaces and relay beach capacity information.
- Perform other related duties as required, directed, or dictated by situation.

Education, Experience &Special Requirements
- High school education; additional education or training in a clerical field preferred.
- Strong experience in customer service, including handling difficult conversations.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, safe driving record, and ability to provide personal vehicle for occasional transportation during work hours.
- Outdoor environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- Majority of work performed in a moderately noisy work environment, with constant interruptions.
- Frequently subjected to demands of others and volume/rapidity of tasks.
- Operates computer, printer, keyboard, calculator, telephone, and all standard office equipment.
