Provide advanced stepdown care as a Registered Nurse in a high-acuity cardiac care unit supporting patients requiring specialized cardiac monitoring and interventions. This contract opportunity is located in Newton, KS, with shifts covering the 7 PM to 7 AM schedule at a nationally recognized medical center known for its cardiac services.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) focusing on cardiac stepdown patients

* Monitor complex cardiac conditions including management of heart catheterizations, balloon pumps, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), hypothermia protocols, cardioversion, central lines, and medication drips

* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide efficient and organized patient care

* Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR

* Uphold unit policies and patient safety standards while managing a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license

* Experience in stepdown or critical care nursing preferred

* Certifications required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

* Familiarity with neurological assessments (NIH Stroke Scale) is a strong plus

* Strong organizational skills, driven mindset, and the ability to maintain a positive and engaged attitude under pressure
