Building Administrator
JOB GOALUnder the administrative direction of the Program Administrator - Head Start, the Practice Based Coach is responsible for providing high-quality coaching, guided reflection, and training and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start teachers on best practices related to early learning and supporting school readiness and the social‑emotional development of young children in compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Performs other work as requested.
- Provide coaching for teachers that promotes continual development as individuals and/or teams.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and administrators in a variety of settings through coaching, collaborating and consulting.
- Analyze, interpret and solve problems.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Coordinate on‑site work schedules, classroom observations and training with supervisors and teachers.
- Participate in early childhood education meetings and on committees as required and appropriate.
- Ability to promote best practices in early childhood development based on Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Salary and work year to be established by the board of education.
EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
Essential Functions Of The JobContributes to providing quality service in accordance with skills and training. Promotes a unified team‑oriented atmosphere in all communications and actions. Documents classroom and teacher observations and individual coaching plans. Provides constructive feedback and support to teaching staff for learning and growth.

- In addition to items 5, 6, 7, & 8, occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
- Driving skills and physical ability required to drive vehicle.
- Special physical, agility and reaction time tests required.
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR.
- ”Heavy” means not over 50 pounds.
