Maintenance Associate

Overview

At Graphic Packaging International, we are a leading manufacturer of paperboard and paper-based packaging. This is a skilled trade position responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, repairing, and installing all machinery in the plant. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of state-of-the-art lithographic printing machinery, die cutters, and folder/gluers.

• Prevent/minimize machine downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Perform basic welding and mechanical repairs
• Work with basic electrical circuits and installations
• General building maintenance
• Interpret assembly drawings and parts drawings
• Power transmission
• Basic machine shop work
• Overtime as needed

• Look up parts and work with OEMs
• Read mechanical and electrical schematics
• Use the computer to process work notifications (SAP)
• Qualify to operate a forklift, aerial boom lift, and scissor lift
• Work on platforms approximately 15 feet above ground
• Participate in technical training on or off site
• Strong electrical engineering background

• Lifting up to 20 lbs frequently and 21-50 lbs occasionally
• Requires use of both feet and both hands for grasping and manipulation
• Ability to stand, climb, walk, kneel and crouch frequently
• Ability to bend, squat, reach, twist, push/pull with force, and carry as needed
• Reading, writing, hearing, seeing, speaking, and agility required
• PPE: steel-toed/safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut resistant gloves, hair net, beard net

• Associate’s degree in engineering technology, automated systems, electronics technician, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, and servicing electrical equipment including AC/DC drives, PLCs, control networks, and I/O
• Experience testing, maintaining, and calibrating electrical equipment with problem-solving skills
• Ability to work any shift (including nights & weekends, up to 12-hour shifts)
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• 2 years of electrical/mechanical maintenance experience

PAY RANGE: $30.86 - $37.52
