Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in County Durham and Darlington are seeking to recruit a CAMHS Clinician to work in our South Durham, Getting More Help Team. This post requires the candidate to have a professional registration in Child, mental health or Learning disability nursing.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, well‑motivated, forward‑thinking clinician to work as part of our team – working with young people with mental health problems.
Within the CAMHS Team we have a very varied workload, which means that every day will bring new and exciting opportunities for you to develop your skills. To support your development we will use regular appraisal and talent management, to identify your interests and development opportunities. As a team we will support you with both formal training and continuing professional development opportunities.
Candidates must have 18 months post‑qualifying experience including sign‑off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis.
In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the jobThe team is multi‑disciplinary and provides mental health assessments, treatment and interventions for young people suffering from moderate to severe complex emotional, behavioural and psychological issues resulting in mental health problems.
This CAMHS team is a dynamic team that is comprised of CAMHS clinicians with varying professional backgrounds, including nursing, psychology and social work, enabling us to provide high quality holistic mental health care to the children and young people accessing our services.
The successful applicant will work with the MDT to provide assessments and interventions to children and young people and families. As part of the MDT we will provide ongoing support to the successful applicant through supervision and talent management.
