Class 2 HGV Driver ADR Day Shift South Devon Temp to Perm

We are looking for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver holding a valid ADR certificate to join a well-regarded transport operation based in South Devon. This is a temp-to-perm position offering consistent daytime work, reliable hours, and a genuine route into permanent employment. The role centres on palletised deliveries being carried out professionally and safely, making it an ideal opportunity for a driver who values stability and a clear long-term future with a reputable employer.

The position serves delivery routes across South Devon, with excellent road links from Plymouth and Exeter. Regular routes cover areas, including Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Totnes, South Brent, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, and the surrounding region.

£14.91 to £17.61 per hour via PAYE Advance (other PAYE models are available). Pay is processed weekly, and all overtime worked beyond the contracted 45 hours per week is paid at the standard hourly rate. Day shifts begin at 7:00am.

• Operating a Class 2 (Category
  
  C) HGV vehicle to carry out palletised deliveries across South Devon
• Following ADR regulations in full when transporting qualifying loads
• Conducting thorough pre‑shift vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects accurately
• Completing all delivery documentation and consignment paperwork to a high standard
• Driving in full compliance with tachograph rules, driver hours legislation and road traffic law
• Maintaining a professional and courteous manner when representing the business on delivery routes
• Communicating effectively with depot staff and delivery contacts throughout the working day

• A valid Class 2 (Category
  
  C) HGV driving licence
• A current ADR certificate
• A Driver CPC qualification card
• A digital tachograph card
• Demonstrable previous experience driving HGV vehicles in a professional capacity

• Prior experience handling palletised freight deliveries
• Familiarity with roads and delivery points across South Devon
• A confident and customer‑focused approach when dealing with businesses and members of the public on route

• Competitive hourly pay ranging from £14.91 to £17.61 depending on shift and experience
• Weekly pay via PAYE Advance (other PAYE models are available)
• All overtime compensated at the standard hourly rate once 45 contracted hours are completed
• Daytime‑only shifts with a 7:00am start, giving you consistent and predictable working hours
