Overview

Teign Ward have an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Associate who has a passion for providing the highest standard of care for our patients. Teign Ward is a 30 bedded in-patient ward within Newton Abbot community Hospital providing care, rehabilitation and end of life care to patients following an acute illness and treatment in the acute hospital or admitted directly via their GP.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the role is getting to know some of the patients over a long period of time. You get to be part of a treatment plan bespoke to them and sometimes part of their return to a level of life-enhancing functionality. With specialist treatments, the department also plays a huge part in preventing hospital admissions.

You will be supported with your development needs both from in-house training and external courses whilst having regular supervision and appraisal to help you reach your maximum potential and development.

Responsibilities
  • The Nurse Associate works within the sphere of nursing to provide a high quality of nursing care across the lifespan and fields of nursing.
  • Working under the leadership and delegation of the Registered Nurse, they will assume responsibility for their workload.
  • They will work as part of a team, delivering health and social care that focuses on the holistic needs of service users.
  • They will carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by registered practitioners.
  • Supervision and teaching of junior staff will be part of the role.
