Rate: £12.90 per hour
Shifts:
12 hour shifts that include days, nights, and rota weekends (8:00–20:00 and 20:00–08:00).
Fair View Lodge is located in the market town of Newton Abbot. We offer residential support for three adults who are autistic or have a learning disability. Our home is in a pleasant residential area, within walking distance of the town centre. Our team provides the people we care for with the skills they need to live healthier and happier lives in their own communities.
We recognise that residents have a variety of needs and we work to ensure that their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs are met.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience in a similar role. However, while valuable, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate the right values and behaviours to make a difference in people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual care plans, undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference in their lives.
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
- Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
- Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
- Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
- Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
