Financial Manager
Our client is seeking a Head of Finance to join their newly formed Finance, Strategy and Change division based in St Helier, Jersey. This position is a permanent, full-time role that plays a critical part in the management of financial operations and strategies of the organisation. The successful candidate will lead the day-to‑day financial management and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
The Head of Finance will also provide strategic financial leadership to enhance organisational performance and long‑term sustainability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Jersey as a prominent International Financial Centre. The candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, planning, and analysis while building a high‑performing finance team. They will strengthen financial discipline and collaboration across departments, fostering a culture of accountability and trust with stakeholders.
Furthermore, this position will involve significant oversight of the external audit process and support organisational change initiatives.
- Lead the full financial cycle, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial modelling, scenario analysis, and multi‑year projections.
- Oversee all core operational finance activities, ensuring timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end close.
- Manage financial risk, including cashflow, liquidity, credit, interest rate, and market risks, while implementing robust mitigation plans.
- Own and coordinate the entire external audit process while preparing for internal audit, assurance reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration with various teams, resulting in aligned planning and improved decision‑making.
- Support organisation‑wide change initiatives, system optimisation, and performance/KPI frameworks.
- Conduct accurate, insight‑driven financial analysis to strengthen organisational decision‑making.
- Establish and enhance a strong financial control environment, improving audit outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS or equivalent).
- Advanced technical expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Experience in managing external audit processes and navigating accounting standards.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgement, and ability to influence senior leaders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of leading through organisational change.
- Ability to foster a culture of financial accountability and collaboration across the organisation.
