Role DescriptionThis is a part time remote volunteer role (approximately 3 hours per month) for the position of Treasurer (Trustee) at People in Harmony. The Treasurer will oversee the organization’s financial management, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, preparing and presenting financial reports, and budgeting for organizational activities. The role also involves advising the board on financial policies, monitoring income and expenditure, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting fundraising efforts.
As part of the trustee board, the Treasurer will contribute to the overall governance and strategic direction of the organization.
- Financial skills, including budgeting, financial management, and understanding of charity finance regulations
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Experience with financial reporting, and strategy development
- Communication skills to effectively present financial information to the board and stakeholders
- Commitment to the values and mission of People in Harmony, with a collaborative approach to team efforts
- Previous trustee experience or familiarity with nonprofit governance is advantageous
- Proficiency in financial software or tools is a plus
