To provide Project Assistance to Senior Project Managers on the day-to-day running of Public Sector Water & Wastewater Projects. Under the supervision of Senior Project Managers, to be responsible for aspects of the day-to-day running of individual projects, from formal receipt of tender file, through procurement, sub-contract appointment, preparation of materials, installation, commissioning, and handover files. Primary focus will be on NI Water Base Maintenance MEICA contracts throughout Northern Ireland and/or Irish Water Capital Delivery contracts in the Republic of Ireland, working under the direction of Senior Project Managers.
Responsibilities- To attend site progress meetings and weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and clients.
- To ensure the Senior Project Manager is kept informed of works progress and project performance.
- At all times to work within the provision of the company’s ISO Quality, Environmental and Health Safety Procedures.
- To work under the direction of Senior Project Manager(s).
- To attend MEICA design meetings and keep records of same.
- To purchase equipment and sub-contract services at the most advantageous rates.
- Prepare CAD drawings as and when required for contracts.
- Conduct Site Surveys and Prepare Reports.
- To attend Project Progress meetings and keep records of same.
- To liaise with and support site engineers on their day-to-day job requirements.
- To liaise and support sub-contract personnel on site.
- To ensure work on site is carried out safely and in accordance with current H&S guidelines.
- Preparation of Site H&S Documentation (RAMS, Site H&S Files etc).
- Preparation of Methodology and Sequencing Plans.
- Preparation of Commissioning documents.
- Preparation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
- To represent the Company professionally in all dealings with customers, framework partners, suppliers and work colleagues.
- To achieve individually agreed objectives for the year
- A formal qualification in a relevant Engineering Discipline
- Competent with Autocad drawing software and MS Project Management software.
- High level of IT skill in use of MS Word, Excel, Teams use etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in reading, interpreting and responding to technical specifications.
2 years post qualification experience in an engineering environment. - Experience working on NI Water and/or Irish Water contracts.
