Data Engineer
Location: UK based/remote
Salary: £72,000 + excellent benefits package & share Incentive Plan
We’re looking for a Data Chapter Lead to shape the future of our Data Engineering capability. You’ll lead a community of Data Engineers, drive best‑in‑class engineering practices, and set the strategic direction for tools, processes, and technical standards.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys developing people, improving engineering maturity, and influencing how data enables business value.
Data Chapter Lead - What You’ll Do- Lead, coach, and develop a chapter of Data Engineers.
- Define and uphold engineering, design and testing standards.
- Drive capability uplift
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance, promotions, and progression.
- Promote an inclusive, high‑performing engineering culture.
- Work closely with squads to improve delivery, solve problems, and embed agile ways of working.
- Lead strategic initiatives to improve engineering practices and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with architecture, governance, and Tribe leadership.
- Support technology and tooling choices that advance our engineering capability.
- Strong line‑management and coaching/mentoring experience.
- Experience in agile/Scrum development and CI/CD practices.
- Extensive experience designing and testing data pipelines and Kimball data warehouse models.
- Knowledge of engineering and testing standards in regulated environments.
- Hands‑on experience with modern data tooling such as:
- Strong programming skills in: SQL, Python, Terraform (or equivalents).
