This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting real testing programmes for high-tech industries, such as space, aerospace, automotive, medical, mechanical and electronics.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and technicians on projects that push the limits, from components heading into orbit to products undergoing intense fire and environmental testing.
Full training will be provided.
AboutThe Role
Resonate Testing are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Technician to support laboratory testing activities and day to day lab operations. This is a hands-on, practical role focused on setting up test samples, operating test equipment, and supporting engineers in delivering accurate and repeatable test programmes.
This role is well suited to someone with a strong interest in practical engineering, lab work, and equipment operation.
Responsibilities- Prepare and set up test samples, fixtures, and test rigs.
- Operate laboratory test equipment under instruction.
- Monitor tests and record data accurately.
- Support engineers during test execution and troubleshooting.
- Carry out basic equipment checks and routine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
- Follow test procedures, quality requirements, and health and safety standards.
- Assist with receiving, handling, and storing customer samples.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and customers during test activities.
- Prepare documentation, test records, and technical reports under supervision.
- Support general lab tasks and workload as required.
All relevant training will be provided.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience- A practical technical qualification or sufficient experience in a technical practical role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow technical instructions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality relating to customers, data, and company activities
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Willingness and ability to learn new technical skills, such as fabrication, welding, electrical pneumatic, hydraulic or water installation
- Previous experience in fabrication, welding, or electrical installation
- Familiarity with testing activities in a laboratory or technical environment
- Basic understanding of engineering principles relevant to mechanical, electrical or environmental testing
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, or test requirements
- Comfortable working with tools, fixtures, and bespoke test rigs
- Experience with quality system documentation (e.g. test records, procedures, work instructions)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Forklift license (or willingness to complete training – training can be provided)
