Job Summary
An exciting and rewarding role within a well-established company. The position requires the QS to provide detailed cost planning and estimates for capital works to include managing site abnormal and risk.

Working Hours:
40 hours per week
- Manage all commercial aspects of contracts, from tender through to final account.
- Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cashflows.
- Lead the preparation and submission of valuations, variations, and claims.
- Administer contracts ensuring compliance with terms.
- Provide accurate and timely commercial reports to senior management and clients.
- Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favourable terms.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance evaluation.
- Support compliance with housing regulations, health & safety, and sustainability standards.
- Work collaboratively with operations, design, and client teams to achieve successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS accreditation preferred).
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (maintenance, refurbishment, or new build) preferably in Education sector.
- Strong knowledge of NEC Forms of Contracts.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of financial and commercial awareness.
- Strong IT skills, including cost management software and MS Office.
- Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff.
- Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training.
- Full UK Driving License.
- 5 years experience in construction industry.
- The successful candidate should be capable of working on own initiative.
- Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Have a good timekeeping and attendance record.
- Have the ability to work with a wide range of people and be a team player.
- Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks.
- Be reliable & committed.
- Have ability to work to deadlines.
- Participate in overtime when required (including weekends).
- Have ability to take on new skills.
- Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques.
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times.
- Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately.
- Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed and followed.
- Observe & follow all manual handling practices.
- As the majority of the work will be conducted in Public Sector or Housing Associations, we will require a recent Access NI certificate CTS will perform a Access NI check as part of the on-boarding process.
