We’re looking for an attentive, organised, proactive House Manager to exceed our guests’ expectations, and ensure that their experience before, during, and after their stay is the best it can be.
You’ll embody the spirit of Watergate Bay Hotel with your friendly, considerate manner, and oversee daily hotel operations across all areas.
You’ll also ensure a seamless experience, notably during key periods of demand, and proactively identify issues, taking proactive measures to prevent them from occurring, and monitor guest touchpoints, ensure cleanliness, ambience, and service standards are upheld, and build relationships with new and returning guests.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
As our House Manager you’ll be- Represent hotel management in guest-related matters and personally welcome VIPs, repeat guests, and groups.
- Oversee daily hotel operations across all departments and provide hands‑on support during peak times.
- Monitor guest touchpoints to maintain cleanliness, ambience, service standards, and special requests.
- Address complaints and feedback proactively, identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
- Coordinate bookings, special occasions, and ensure smooth communication with reservations and guest services.
- Cover Night Manager duties during holidays or sickness and support teams in maintaining standards.
- Liaise with department heads and supervisors to resolve operational issues and improve processes.
- Ensure uniform, grooming, and shift reporting standards are upheld.
- Maintain a safe working environment, act as emergency response leader, and ensure staff are trained in fire procedures.
- Support B Corp initiatives and contribute to environmental and team wellbeing goals.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times, recording any accidents in the accident book.
- Have knowledge of the fire evacuation procedure for all areas, and ensure all staff are fully trained and aware of what to do in the event of a fire.
- Liaise with department heads and supervisors to resolve operational issues.
- Work in accordance with Department Heads and Supervisors to improve all aspects of guest experience.
- Have a good understanding of why we are working towards a B Corp accreditation.
- Be an active participant in B Corp related initiatives and workshops.
- A minimum of 1 year in a management position (within a similar role)
- Solid organisational skills
- A positive, proactive approach to team leadership
- A good knowledge of customer care/ complaint handling
- Amenable to a flexible working schedule, including weekends
- A guest‑focused mindset
- Responsible, with an excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work to your own initiative
- Strong accuracy in numerical documentation (desirable)
