INSTRUMENTATION SUPERVISOR
Location: Chester, UK
Contract duration: initial 12-month contract - renewable.
Start Date: ASAP
Project: Carbon Capture & Storage project
Role PurposeTo supervise instrumental works verifying they are performed in compliance with project schedule and budget, as per project drawings, specifications, and applicable standards, ensuring that construction activities for the assigned areas/units proceed safely, efficiently and to the satisfaction of all parties.
Key Activities- Verifying instrumental works (cable trays laying and cable pulling, terminations and meagering, equipment installation, mechanical completion checks) are carried out in compliance with project drawings, specifications and applicable international codes and standards; interface and coordinate with construction and MC teams in the identification and resolution of punches.
- Verifying that utilized bulk materials are certified and in compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Verifying instrumental works are executed according to project schedule and budget, highlighting any deviations and suggesting recovery actions; promptly advising the Construction Manager of any areas of concern.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and technical solutions.
- Validating instrumental works progress.
- Assuring instrumental works punch lists are properly detected, integrated within the Mechanical Completion master punch list, and cleared.
- Ensuring all activities carried out are in compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements.
- Ensuring all works are properly executed in compliance with project specification, QA/QC procedure, and standards.
- Ensuring technical integrity of instrument works.
- Respect of project time targets.
- Construction planning and monitoring (schedule and costs) in accordance with company contractual requirements.
- Monitoring construction site daily / weekly / monthly progress against project program requirements.
- Ensuring the contractor executes the activity in accordance with the requirements agreed with various stakeholders, including local authorities and regulatory bodies, to maintain positive relationships and ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensuring the contractor organizes a safe working environment for all personnel on site, adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Engineering/technical degree (preferred).
- Technical diploma.
- 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- 4 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as instrumental works supervisor.
- Construction plan and monitoring.
- Construction works & testing.
- Construction plan and monitoring.
- ITT: good knowledge of MS Office package; preferred knowledge of Mechanical Completion management software, project monitoring and controlling (change management).
- Facilities: basic knowledge of main process schemes for oil and gas treatment; good knowledge of plant automation & control systems, instrumentation, plant construction and commissioning.
- Quality: basic knowledge of QA/QC construction management systems.
- HSE: basic knowledge of construction HSE requirements and standards implementation.
