Shift Type: Rotating mid-shifts including weekends; primary mid-shift options 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM; includes every other weekend; rotating day/night coverage

Roles & Responsibilities Triage and rapidly assess patients presenting to the emergency department to prioritize care
Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for medical, surgical, and trauma patients
Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions safely and efficiently
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to develop and execute patient plans
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful moments
Document assessments, treatments, and changes in condition accurately in the medical record
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain department readiness for emergencies
Qualifications 3-5 years of Emergency Room nursing experience (position requires demonstrated ER experience)
Active Registered Nurse license in Vermont or compact RN licensure as required by state regulations
Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work rotating shifts including every other weekend
Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills Solid knowledge of emergency assessment and triage principles
Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, and emergency procedures
Familiarity with common ED workflows and documentation practices
Comfort working independently in a Critical Access hospital setting
Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis management skills
