The Opportunity

The Manufacturing Engineer III designs, implements, and improves the manufacturing systems and processes used to produce Galvion products efficiently, safely, and cost‑effectively while maintaining the highest levels of quality. This allows us to provide the best products to our customers in the field.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Design, develop, and implement optimal, cost‑effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyze, recommend, develop, and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Product Design teams to coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products, taking responsibility for manufacturing engineering development and design actions within the stage‑gate process.
  • Create and complete PPAP files (including CpK, Gage R&R, Control Plans, Process flow, etc.) as required for new product manufacturing releases.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement across all manufacturing processes using Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and recommend and implement safety improvements as needed.
  • Ensure engineering activities align with production schedules and customer requirements in partnership with the Manufacturing Operations team.
  • Lead problem resolution for performance or quality non‑conformances, ensuring corrective actions are documented and implemented.
  • Provide and/or assist with training and cross‑training to support employee efficiency, productivity, and professional development.
  • Serve as the technical expert in manufacturing processes and act as the primary technical resource for the Manufacturing Operations team.
  • Work with the Manufacturing Supervisors and Management team to oversee engineering processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop, document, and maintain production work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with Operations.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, manufacturing staff, maintenance teams, facility technicians, and safety personnel in a 3‑shift operation.
  • Ensure the effectiveness, reliability, and readiness of manufacturing equipment required for product production.
  • Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
  • Design, develop, test, source, and cost‑justify tools, machinery, and equipment required for optimized manufacturing methods.
  • Conduct product and process analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality enhancement, and efficiency improvement.
  • Represent Manufacturing on cross‑functional teams to support company‑wide initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
What You Will Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in mechanical and electro‑mechanical manufacturing equipment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of molding processes and characterization.
  • 4+ years experience with Solid Works (or equivalent) designing tooling and fixturing.
  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing Methodologies and its implementation.
  • Machinery controls/PLC logic understanding.
  • Proficient in computer skills:
    Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Fast learner, self‑starter, must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive can‑do, customer‑oriented attitude is necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to acquire CGD Security Clearance (for Canada).
