Job Summary: As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services.
You will also be a team leader to the associates ensuring the work environment is positive and productive. Through a continuous learning environment you will stay current on products we sell and be able to articulate our purpose in a manner that is educational, insightful, and professional. and Responsibilities
- Customer Service – proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customers' needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service and cooperate to build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
- Take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Maintain store appearance.
- Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.
- Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on customers' individual needs.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features, keep up with the latest trends, and leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge specs.
- Use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards; handle cash, count money, and return accurate amounts to customers.
- Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes, and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- May participate in periodic inventories.
- Responsible for the security of cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory.
- Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects/tasks, managing merchandise and inventory.
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule.
- Accurate and complete follow‑through on work assignments.
- Provide effective leadership, demonstrate ability to direct, train, and motivate associates, and set a positive example.
- Provide coaching and feedback timely and professionally.
- Provide direction on work assignments and training to sales associates.
- Provide input to the Department Manager on associate performance.
- May open and close locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Product Knowledge – moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Provide training documentation to sales associates on product features.
- Experience – 1–2 years of Retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Communication Skills – strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents.
- Mathematical Skills – basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios; must be able to make change in American monetary units.
- Reasoning Ability – ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
- Teamwork – ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
- Conflict Management – ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.
