Make a meaningful impact by using your accounting expertise to strengthen community health and social service programs. We’re seeking a Senior Accountant who is passionate about nonprofit work, committed to financial integrity, and eager to support programs that expand access to essential care.
In this key role, you’ll manage grant compliance, financial reporting, and accounting functions that ensure resources reach the individuals and families who need them most.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Operations
- Prepare and process monthly journal entries
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Support Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, the 330 Grant Budget, and UDS reporting
- Lead special accounting projects as needed
- Prepare accurate, timely Health Center grant invoices and reports
- Submit reimbursement requests with required documentation
- Monitor budget vs. actuals and provide financial projections
- Review accounts receivable and follow up with funding partners
- Generate monthly financial reports by grant, location, and department
- Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis to leadership
- Communicate financial trends or irregularities to the Director of Finance
- Collaborate with Program Leaders on grant budgets and financial reviews
- Participate in the annual budgeting process
- Prepare documentation for state and federal site visits
- Assist with annual audit preparation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit experience (grant reporting, budgeting, compliance)
- Knowledge of OMB 2 CFR Part 200
- Proficiency with nonprofit accounting systems (
SAGE Intacct preferred
) - Strong understanding of GAAP, especially for FQHC/CMHC environments
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience in nonprofit healthcare (FQHC, CMHC)
- Experience in Community Action Programs or wraparound service settings
