FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, a Universal Banker is at the forefront of customer interactions as part of a branch‑based team that provides high quality service that earns the long‑term loyalty of our customers. Leveraging communication skills and banking knowledge to engage with customers, the Universal Banker understands customers' needs, provides financial solutions and advice to resolve issues, and helps customers achieve their financial goals.

This all‑encompassing role requires the associate to provide banking products and services to new and existing customers, open new accounts, assist with processing banking transactions, and respond to customer inquiries by promptly answering questions, resolving routine problems, or referring customers to the appropriate service personnel. This position may also include additional duties that vary with branch needs. The Universal Banker demonstrates a willingness to exceed expectations by embracing the Bank's mission statement and core values, improving results and morale, and creating new opportunities.

NOTE:

This position can be a Float Universal Banker, which has the same requirements but functions under the direction of a Regional Manager supporting various locations as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consistently provides quality service in a professional manner.
  • Be the face of Bay Coast Bank, presenting a professional, friendly and helpful appearance with every interaction.
  • Adhere to the Customer Centric service standards.
  • Initiate contact and respond to customer inquiries by quickly and courteously answering questions and helping to resolve customer issues/problems according to the Bank's problem resolution procedures.
  • Strive to meet and exceed personal and branch goals by embracing the Bank's commitment to Solutions, seeking and recognizing opportunities to refer new business to various areas of the Bank (Bay Coast Insurance, Plimoth Investment Advisors, Bay Coast Mortgage Company, Teamwork Funding, and Priority Funding).
  • Align behavior and performance with the guiding principles and purpose that define the organization's mission and core values.
  • Use Salesforce to track identified tasks, leads, and opportunities; strongly encouraged to utilize and track referrals through Solutions to ensure proper credit and recognition.
  • Know features and benefits of Bay Coast Bank products.
  • Engage in Relationship Development and Service activities and contribute directly to the success of the branch by recognizing and discovering customer needs and matching them with the Bank's products and services.
  • Instruct and guide customers in the use of electronic products and services to ensure they are well‑informed and comfortable using them.
  • Seek and promote opportunities to provide Merchant Services and Elan credit card products to customers.
  • Conduct business in a professional manner and maintain a neat, organized work area.
  • Enthusiastically participate in and support Bank‑sponsored marketing initiatives, sales meetings, training programs and campaigns/contests.
  • Serve as an active member of the customer service office team opening deposit accounts and taking loan applications.
  • Accurately process teller transactions and maintain teller difference limits while adhering to bank procedures.
  • Cross‑train to support other departments such as ITM, Loan Servicing, Deposit Operations.
  • Perform account maintenance, wire transfers, bond redemptions, safe deposit box services, foreign currency transactions and stop payments.
  • Perform all daily operational tasks, including but not limited to:
    • End of Day Balancing.
    • All banking transactions.
    • Night deposits, subject to verification bags.
    • Loan applications.
  • Assist in the proving of the ITM/ATM machine.
  • Issue Debit/ATM cards through Card@Once and perform maintenance when cards are compromised due to loss, theft or fraud.
  • Effectively use available resources for problem resolution.
  • Utilize Currency Exchange International (CXI) to order and deposit foreign currency as needed.
