Environmental Project Manager - Remediation Focus

Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager with UST investigation/remediation experience and regulatory knowledge in CT, MA, NH, NY, and/or RI. The position reports to AECOM offices in the Northeast region and will be remote, with residency requirement in the listed states. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong health and safety focus, is detail‑oriented, has excellent written and verbal skills, can work independently, and collaborates effectively in high‑performance teams.
Responsibilities- Managing scope, schedule, and budget for large investigation, remediation, and construction projects, including remedial designs.
- Building strong client relationships.
- Client and regulatory correspondence.
- Technical report writing and review.
- Analyzing and applying solutions to atypical, semi‑complex, or challenging issues within the area of expertise.
- Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits.
- Preparing cost estimates and proposals.
- Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders.
- Coordinating work schedules with AECOM staff and subcontractors.
- Responsible for quality control of tasks.
- Mentoring project junior staff.
- Travel regionally for field visits as needed.
- Supervising up to five staff.
- Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, or closely related field and two years of Project Management experience or equivalent education.
- U.S. citizenship required; sponsorship not offered.
- Background check and motor vehicle records check for qualified applicants.
- Four years of environmental consulting experience focused on site investigation/remediation.
- Three years of project management experience.
- Experience with regulatory agencies in CT, MA, NH, NY, ME, and RI.
- 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training.
Compensation will be based on education, qualifications, experience, and location. The range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 per year.
