Pro Sidian Seeks an Intermediate Level English As A Second Language (ESL) Instructor to provide DoD/Military Sector related Management and Operations Solutions for English Second Language (ESL) Course Services on behalf of The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) | USNWC International Programs Directorate.

JOB OVERVIEW

International Programs has a requirement to assist International Military Students with their ability to participate verbally in Naval War College courses, comprehend written texts, and effectively communicate their thoughts and arguments in written papers. The courses will be at two levels:
Intermediate and Advanced.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Deliver and conduct classroom instruction, including preparing coursework materials, maintaining student roster and contact information, and reporting weekly attendance.
  • Provide a prepared syllabus to International Programs for contracted courses at two levels (Officer-Intermediate and Advanced) prior to start of first class.
  • Submit a grade report of “Pass” or “Fail”.
  • Provide assistance to students in public speaking and evaluating student papers.
  • Conduct post-instruction questionnaires and produce a final progress report to International Programs.
  • Provide all textbooks and required materials for all courses.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s in ESL/EFL pedagogy, linguistics, or a related field of language teaching with 2 years of experience teaching ITAs, experience in critiquing writing skills, and administrative experience.

  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
