Overview

Position Summary:

As we prepare for the warmer months approaching, the Lincoln County Parks Department is looking for Seasonal Parks Maintenance workers. These people will perform general manual tasks on a temporary basis for Parks crews while observing park and county rules and laws. We are currently filling two vacancies. These are part-time, non-benefited positions. Moonshine Park in Lincoln County.

Located on the Central Oregon Coast, Lincoln County has scenic towns and beautiful forests surrounded by rivers and bordered by the Pacific Ocean. Lincoln County maintains 13 parks, including campground and waysides. Most parks and campgrounds are located in the in-land areas of the County, with waysides providing public access to the beach. Parks range in size from small boat launch/picnic areas to overnight camping and day-use facilities.

• Clean park facilities:
  Pick up trash/litter.
• Clean and stock restroom facilities.
• Collect garbage.
• Mow lawn areas, trim bushes, shrubs, and trees; perform minor maintenance and repairs on mowers and attachments.
• Operate equipment such as push mowers, riding mowers, pickup trucks, small trailers, chainsaws, small compressors, small generators, weed eaters, blowers, etc.
• Perform heavy manual tasks such as digging ditches and carrying supplies; construct park trails, picnic tables, benches, footbridges, fire pits, signs, and other park structures and facilities.
• Respond to inquiries from the public and enforce Lincoln County Code and park rules in the parks.
• Prepare planting areas and plant trees, shrubs, and other plant materials; fertilizer and mulch plant materials.
• Remove hazardous trees; trim shrubs and trees.

High School Diploma / GED

Experience
None

License
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire

Knowledge, Skill, or Ability
Safety and traffic rules and regulations; operate and maintain tools such as weed eaters, power saws and lawn mowers.
