CB&I Project Managers are responsible for all matters pertaining to the execution of project(s) assigned to them in accordance with the contract terms and all Company HSSE, quality, execution and financial goals. This position is an individual contributor or Manager level role typically reporting to the Director of Operations with responsibility, either through direct reporting oversight or in collaboration with Construction, Project Controls, Supply Chain, HR, HSE, and Finance management and staff.
This role is onsite in Newport, OR for the construction of one of our storage systems. Candidates not local to Newport will have per diem, living expenses, and other allowances.
Responsibilities- Responsible for managing projects in a single country or sub-region within a single country. Project assignments may range in scope from managing multiple small (up to US $20MM) contracts or a single medium size (up to US $100MM) project.
- Has bottom line responsibility for the financial and technical success of projects.
- Primary responsibilities include complying with Company business & legal policies, maintaining client relationships, protecting the Company from unnecessary risks, managing resources for the project, providing overall leadership, and serving as a focal point for client communication.
- Maintains formal and accurate project forecasting, directs continuous improvements through a formal Lessons Learned program at the project level, and ensures completion of internal and external project reports.
- Has a complete understanding of the Contract agreement, project specifications, the "as-sold" scope of work, and contract commercial terms.
- Establishes and communicates project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
- Able to travel to project locations for client/customer meetings and site assessments.
- Manages change robustly to mitigate risk and leverage commercial advantage.
- Maintains positive project cash flow.
- Represents the Company and the project at all meetings.
- Participates in the Commercial and Business Development process by providing operational input and during the pre-contract effort.
- Typically 12-15+ years since first degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in Project Engineering, Construction Management or Project Controls.
- 3+ years in a Project Site Engineering or Construction Management role.
- Professional degree (Engineering or BS Preferred).
- Broad technical knowledge of construction methods and equipment, engineering processes, and fabrication capabilities.
- Familiarity with estimating, supply chain, project controls, and contract commercial management.
- Knowledge of Commercial Contracting and Negotiation strategies.
- Familiarity with the Energy & Construction Industry preferred.
- Business presence and polish.
- Knowledge of CB&I products and markets.
- Proactively identifies and solves complex problems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Mental agility and ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines.
- Proven negotiating ability with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated business partnering skills with the ability to influence the organization.

- Exceptional communication and presentation skill, both written and verbal.
