Samaritan Health Services, a non-profit integrated health care delivery system, is seeking a full-time Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our team in Newport, OR.

Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, established in 1952, is home to a recently constructed 25-bed critical access hospital. Located in the coastal community of Newport, Oregon, we serve residents and tourists of Depoe Bay, Newport, Toledo, Waldport and Yachats.

Nestled between the Coast Range and the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean, Newport boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery on the central Oregon Coast with vast stretches of rugged cliffs, lush vegetation and sandy beaches. The temperate coastal climate allows for a variety of activities year-round, including hiking, whale watching, golfing, shopping, deep‑sea fishing and surfing.

Job Specifics
  • Financial incentives include starting bonus, relocation and loan assistance funds
  • Monday‑Friday, 8am-5pm;
    hybrid approach requires 1 day on‑site weekly, with the option to work telehealth/remotely on additional days
  • No overnight call!
  • Full‑time is 34 patient contact hours/week; the average volume is 10-12 patients/day
  • Visit types include initial evaluations, medication consultation/management, and limited therapy
  • Join a well‑established, full‑spectrum mental health program, with role based in Newport, OR.
  • Employment with Samaritan Health Services allows you the unique opportunity to work with clinical and precepting psychiatry residents
Job Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (new grads encouraged to apply!)
  • Current Oregon Licensure or license eligible
  • BCLS certified
  • Knowledge in working with patients who have chronic health conditions
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
