S Sweet Dreams Candy Host - Part-Time Weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Service Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient guest service operations.
• Maintain knowledge of activities, aquatic life, and Newport Aquarium special events/promotions in order to properly notify and inform guests.
• Must be self‑motivated to work independently, as well as disciplined and reliable.
• Maintain appropriate guest and team member relations at all times, ensuring guest and team satisfaction.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible for maintaining store cleanliness in accordance with food safety guidelines.
• Responsible for maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance.
• Maintain a friendly, respectful, outgoing and proactive approach to guests and team members.
• Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by the Food and Beverage management team.
• Ability and willingness to cross‑train in other Food and Beverage areas, i.e., Café.

• Prior point of sale experience is a plus.
• Must have strong public speaking skills and the ability to read, write and speak English (knowledge of other languages is a plus).
• Must be able to think clearly, react quickly, and calmly to changes and/or stressful situations.
• Previous guest service or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates with availability on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are prioritized.

• Successful completion of pre‑employment background check.
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods, ascend and descend floors, bend and reach.
• Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Position will involve exposure to nut allergens
, inclement weather, dust, and potentially dangerous machinery. Personal Protective Equipment including clothing or equipment may be required in some areas.
