DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a positive attitude and appearance while greeting guests.
• Offer upsell/suggestions during all transactions with guests to help create the best possible visit.
• Maintain knowledge of activities, aquatic life, and Newport Aquarium special events/promotions to properly notify and inform guests.
• Maintain appropriate guest and team relations, ensuring guest and team satisfaction.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills by handling comments, concerns, and suggestions from guests regarding the overall guest experience via phone, email, and/or in person.
• Learn and maintain knowledge of ticketing system staying up to date on changes such as ticket types and promotions.
• Responsible for maintaining PCI compliance and proper cash handling procedures.
• Must be self-motivated and work independently, disciplined and reliable.
• Perform and adhere to Herschend Family Entertainment Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Services Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient guest services operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Leadership Team.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong public speaking skills; ability to read, write and speak English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to think clearly and react quickly to changes and/or emergency situations
• Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
• Knowledge of marine life is a plus
