Qualifications

  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED is required. Degree in business communication, marketing or related field is preferred.
  • Training and

    Experience:

    Three or more years of experience in community engagement, outreach, marketing or educational roles. Sales / marketing experience in a medical / healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • Job Knowledge:
    Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence with public speaking. Should have project management experience with the ability to lead and to inspire teamwork. Should be proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Suite, Zoom, etc. Some travel required. Must possess a valid Arkansas drivers’ license in good standing and have independent means of transportation. Automobile liability insurance coverage must be current.

Description

The Delta Region Community Health Systems Development Program (the DELTA Program) Community Engagement Champion (CEC) will serve as a liaison between the DELTA Program staff, their Unity Health team, and community partners. The CEC role is to engage the community and positively impact operations by increasing utilization of Unity Health’s services. The goal is to increase patient volume and reduce bypassing of local services to improve the financial viability of Unity Health and sustain access to care.

The DELTA Program staff builds the CEC’s communication, facilitation, and promotional skills to assist Unity Health in meeting strategic needs through the practical use and application of education provided through the DELTA Program. As an employee of Unity Health, the CEC is expected to become an invaluable, highly skilled team member that is sustained and retained by Unity Health well past DELTA Program completion.

The DELTA Program envisions that the CEC will continue to lead promotional, marketing and community engagement efforts, and facilitate future internal and external conversations to support Unity Health’s strategy planning, visioning, community events, etc.
