A well-established and growing environmental consultancy is seeking an Ecologist to join its expanding team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ecological professional to work on a diverse range of projects across the UK, contributing to meaningful work that supports biodiversity and sustainable development.
The RoleYou will be involved in a wide variety of ecological projects, including ecological surveys, reporting, and client liaison. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological advice to support planning and conservation outcomes.
The Good Stuff- Salary of £30,000-£40,000 depending on experience

- Carry out Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys
- Produce ecological reports, including PEAs, PRAs, and EcIAs
- Provide ecological advice to clients and project teams
- Support mitigation and enhancement strategies
- Assist with project management and meeting deadlines
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Experience working as an Ecologist or Assistant Ecologist in consultancy
- Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Experience with protected species and habitat surveys
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A full UK driving licence
