Trainee Mobile Maintenance Technician

Newport – Daily travel up to 2hrs radius from home. Paid (Cardiff, Gloucester and Bristol are the main areas).

Monday – Friday. Salary: £23,700 + OT (up to £10,000 additional).

Hours normally between 8am and 4pm (earliest start 5am; may finish later).

Company van and fuel card provided. Official UK Government Security Classification check required.

Join a facilities and maintenance company with over 35 years of history, specialising in the maintenance of delivery lockers and the cleaning of IT, technical hardware and data centre compliance.

No two days are the same – this mobile role involves driving to various appointments and locations.

The role guarantees a salary every month, even if hours are not available.

• You will be given a 28‑day rota and scheduled to visit 6–12 sites per day.
• Duties include IT hardware auditing, PC cleaning, and data centre cleaning.
• You will service and maintain delivery lockers, replacing parts and ensuring they work correctly.
• Perform hands‑on maintenance and cleaning of technical rooms and computer hardware (50% of the role).
• Engage with clients, discuss hazards and ensure they are aware of any risks.
• Use a tablet to write up reports on work done, hazards found and health & safety requirements.
• Complete full training and work remotely to a schedule visiting companies in your local area.
• Often work independently, driving to appointments in the company van.
• Stock the van once per month to have all required equipment.
