Join our HII Mission Technologies team. We work on the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities for the remaining 25 years of service. Role
:
We are seeking a Team Lead to join our growing team. The selected candidate will lead the RCOH Aircraft Carrier Climate Control Improvement Team (ACCCIT) in the overhaul and repairs of various supply and exhaust ventilation systems. Leads technical teams for installations and repairs across trades. Manages, oversees, schedules, and assigns tasks to one or more jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment;
performs maintenance and technical support on products and subsystems at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes performance, troubleshoots malfunctions, and eliminates problems efficiently. Ensures coordination with engineering field changes and maintains customer communications. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
- Must have a High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience, including at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications.
- Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Must understand the Tag out Procedure.
- Must exhibit leadership experience and past work experience managing teams performing trades.
- Prefer technical/professional certifications in the mechanical field.
- Exhibit leadership, communication, and ethical decision-making skills.
- Knowledgeable of various supply and exhaust ventilation systems.
- Computer-based knowledge is a plus.
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes (minimum 30 lbs). Able to work on and climb ladders, in extreme temperatures, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. May involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
