Join HII and Mission Technologies in the only shipyard that executes the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear‑powered aircraft carrier. This role supports RCOH, ensuring the safety of U.S. Navy ships by installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and providing technical support on shipboard electrical systems.

Job Responsibilities
- Support the trades team on active class surface ships, assisting with alterations and installations for fleet modernization.
- Perform maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software onboard aircraft carriers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
- Learn and apply production processes toward completion of assignments.
- Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment.
- High school education or trade school or equivalent with 1‑6 years of related experience. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trade specialty.
- Able to read and use precision tools.
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance throughout employment.
- Obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain throughout employment.
- Provide hand tools per trade designation.
- U.S. citizen.
- Graduated from or completed a vocational school, apprenticeship program, or skilled trades certificate program.
- Current or active DoD clearance.
- OSHA 10 Maritime Certification.
- NAVSEA Cableway Improvement certification.
- Muli‑Pin Connector experience.
- Knowledge of Navy Tag Out program, NSTM 300, and 3M manual.
Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes (no less than 30 lbs). Able to work on and climb ladders, in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Perform other duties as required, which may involve high heat, humidity, noise, dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside the continental United States.
