Join Our Team

Join our HII Mission Technologies team. We work on the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. We are seeking a Team Lead to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be Leading the RCOH Aircraft Career Climate Improvement Team (ACCCIT) in the overhaul and repairs of ventilation system.

Job Responsibilities

Leads technical teams for installations and repairs, within or across technical trades specialty. Has the ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment while performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.

Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change while maintaining effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications.
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Must understand the Tag out Procedure.
  • Must exhibit leadership experience and past work experience managing teams performing trades.
Preferred Requirements
  • Prefer technical/professional certifications in the mechanical field.
  • Educational Background in ventilation systems operation.
  • Exhibit leadership skills, communication skills, and ethical decision-making.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.

May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
