ISR system installations for our Military. You will join an amazing team to fabricate, and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies by applying appropriate safety techniques. You will also play a critical role in ensuring that successful and safe work is performed on-board U.S. Naval Ships and our Military installations, which is vital to our Mission to protect and serve our Military.

As a Marine Electrician, you will:
* Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard ship and in shipyard facilities
* Follow blueprints and wiring diagrams
* Install conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws, using hand tools, and threads wires. For example: connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, and switch panels.
* Strips insulation from wire ends and solders ends to terminals, using stripping pliers and soldering iron.
* Connect power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, fire control, and other electronic equipment.
* Test electrical characteristics, for example, voltage, resistance, and phase angle, in circuits, using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and phase rotation indicators.
* Troubleshoot electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect required maintenance, repairs, or replacement requirements.
* Perform maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarm and lighting circuits.
* Conduct insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects repairs or replacements as required.
* Maintain adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisitions replacements as required.
* Lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift (while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position. Attention to safety critical). ABOUT OUR SSM WORK! To be successful in this role, you will have:
* The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
* A High School Diploma
* 6 + months experience in wire/cable pulling or electrical components.
* The ability to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening
* The ability to obtain an OSHA certification
* The ability to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking
* Have attention to safety
* Be able to get respirator qualified and wear proper PPE throughout their work shift
* Must be willing to travel up to 10% to various work sites around the area

Preferred Experience:

* An active Secret clearance
* Shipboard experience
* An OSHA 10 certification
