Position: Dining Services Manager-In-Training
Pay Rate: $20.00 / hour

The Manager-In-Training (MIT) program provides hands-on and computer-based training over approximately sixteen (16) weeks to learn and grow within managing your own account. The program covers:
- General Training & Comprehension: perform duties of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher; operate and train others on kitchen equipment.
- Leadership Development: lead small groups in food preparation, service, and cleanup on varying shifts.
- Policies & Procedures: ensure food quality, inventory, safety, and customer service standards meet policies and procedures.
- Reporting: maintain records of income, expenditures, food, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
- Training: responsible for training, quality control, and in-servicing staff; perform essential job functions as needed.
- Leadership: payroll submission, staffing, coaching, budgeting, and purchasing.
- Communication: convey directives to staff from clients and management.
- Safety: use PPE, follow safety and infection control procedures, report needs and malfunctions.
- Punctuality: ensure attendance and timely completion of tasks.
- Customer & Resident
Experience:
represent HCSG positively and professionally.
- Positive attitude with ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks.
- After training, demonstrate leadership without supervision and maintain safety.
- Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality preferred; coursework in food service/restaurant management.
- Specialized training in food service management; CFP Food Protection Manager certification within first 14 days.
- CDM certification or as required by state law.
- Complete FSM and LTC-FSM certifications within first 60 days of employment.
- Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and supervision preferred.
- Basic computer skills for records and reporting.
- May require sanitation and safety course.
- Must be able to work as scheduled and on time.
- COVID-19 vaccination compliance as required.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, stand/sit/bend/walk for extended periods.
- Must live in the service area.
